Federal Agency: National Partnership for Reinventing Government, General Services Administration - SafeFutures (PDF 29 KB)
SafeFutures seeks to prevent and control youth crime and victimization through the creation of a continuum of care in communities. This continuum of care enables communities to respond to the needs of youth at critical stages of their development through the provision of the appropriate prevention, intervention, and treatment services, as well as graduated sanctions.

PAVNET houses a virtual library of material on violence and at-risk youth from seven different federal agencies. It also contains a program menu that lists a multitude of programs, many of which focus on community violence prevention and enforcement.

The Strengthening Multi-Ethnic Families and Communities Program is a unique integration of various prevention/intervention strategies geared toward reducing violence against self, the family, and the community. The program targets ethnic and culturally diverse parents of children aged three to eighteen years who are interested in raising children with a commitment to leading a violence-free, healthy lifestyle.

The Drug-Free Communities Support Program is designed to strengthen community-based coalition efforts to reduce youth substance abuse. The coalitions include community representatives from each of the following areas: youth; parents; business,; media; schools; youth service organizations; law enforcement; civic; volunteer; and fraternal groups; health care professionals; state; local or tribal governmental agencies with expertise in the field of substance abuse; and other organizations involved in reducing substance abuse.

The Peacemaker Corps is a youth violence prevention and tolerance education program developed by HUD. This initiative brings housing, school, and community groups together under one roof to teach youth leaders the necessary skills for conflict resolution, mediation, youth violence prevention, and developing tolerance for their peers.
